The FWDC QR Code

Post by The Four Wheel Drive Club » Mon Jul 18, 2011 9:08 am

A QR code (abbreviated from Quick Response code) is a specific matrix barcode (or two-dimensional code) that is readable by dedicated QR barcode readers and camera telephones. The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. The information encoded may be text, URL, or other data.

We're going to start using the QR Code for advertising the club! Rather than pointing people to our web address, Twitter, FB etc we can get them to scan the code. It's fun and they'll have all the info on their phones or iPads!

We are working on using the QR codes for other club related things so keep an eye out for them!

You will need a smart phone with a compatible barcode reader. Just search for QR code and chose your preferred App!

This isn't replacing the good old flyer but an addition to it!

We have a stock of these as 5cm square stickers, hopefully they will be going out with the membership packs!

The FWDC team!

I was just thinking that! I was getting grey spots appearing on the white bits as you get in some of the optical illusion examples in the text books.

So how do I use this on my Nokia 1112????  (Yeah and I still use a 4 function calculator and a box brownie!)

I guess that leaves me way behind!

The only bar code I need is saying please and thank you nicely to the barmaid when I order a pint

If all else fails you can print them off and give them to the kids - they will spend hours trying to draw a line from the centre to the outside lol
