this is what i was thinking , maybe worth the FWDC getting hold of bbc in reply of this film ?

Just seen the program, not a balanced veiw at all was it, they keep harping on about how they can't ride a horse or walk down our lanes but fail to mention the thousands of footpaths and bridleways, inside out needs to be taken to task and another program made on our side

I don't ride horses but I'm pretty sure that the terrain shown ie wet stone and side slopes are not the best to be going out for a hack on not to mention an older lady going out for a walk on her own just my opinion

I cannot watch that just makes me want to go punch a bigot!

Can I get a ban on all horse use as they really aren't needed anymore as we now have tractors? They are just big dangerous smelly creatures that put walkers and dogs in danger of being kicked?

Gary I think we all share your frustration, the problem is that "they" are winning the debate

no ones commenting on the way that horses turn perfectly good footpaths into quagmires for walkers?

surely this is exactly the same issue?

You're absolutely right matey.
I am searching at the moment for the info on this, as DEFRA proved several years ago that horses do far more damage than any tyre does. Also, none of the BYWAYS shown were suitable for horses anyway.

Paul(darkstar) said it all really! It is totally unfair that we evil "offroaders" are expected to give up the few Byways we have, while the ramblers etc have have an enormous amount available for them to use!! :rules:

As usual, The Biased Broadcast Company did it again. Strange that the word BYWAY was not used once? The tracks were only referred to as "Green lanes", which is actually an incorrect term (though we all say it). If they had used the word BYWAY, it would have put a completely different light on the matter.Actually there was one brief reference to the term BOAT.

I wonder, is there anyone in our HUGE club who has a really strong PR or lobbying background.......no offence Paul, but I fel we could use some serious help here, as otherwise in 3 or 4 years time we will have no option other than Off Road Sites...which is NOT what most of us are abouT

Sometimes my wife calls me Victor......
