Strata Florida? Info?

Postby cHEROkeeV8 » Tue Jan 21, 2014 9:25 pm

Hey all, id like to go and have a nosey around strata florida later in the year if anyones already doing it?

Not one to do alone from what I understand but I imagin some of you have done it before?

Any Info would be great. Thinking along the lines of May/June time unless someone can advise otherwise?

Jeep should have a lift and A/T's by then so should be fine but will avoid the bombhole if needed.

Cheers Chaps

Josh

Tbh the water doesn't get as high as most the you tube videos show anymore as they keep the lane maintained and drainage is much better. Saying that with all the rain we've had id give it a couple of months before trying it

Yep it still gets bonnet hieght
Just depends on if it's been raining recently, it all runs off the mountain and down that stream.

When I last went in September it wasn't to bad but the week before I asked someone who lives at the end and they advises against it as very high

Yes in a WJ over the bonnet and on the windscreen

Mines an overland so has breathers as standard.

I wouldn't advise it in a standard one but basically you get an air lock under the bonnet which allows it to go thru without taking water in.
I've had it float and had to wait for it to sink abit to get a grip to move. Mine also has double door seals so was completely dry inside.

As I say I wouldn't advise it as if it goes wrong it's expensive

May June should be ok but it's all down to the rain a few days beforehand.
