Salisbury plain laning & photo hunt event Saturday 8th july.

Salisbury Plain Laning & Photohunt - Saturday July 8th

We have arranged an event which combines some lanes suitable for all with an observation quiz. Participants will leave the meeting point in small groups following an experienced leader on a pre-determined route. Each vehicle with more than one occupant will be issued with a set of photographs taken in sequence from the drivers seat of a vehicle which has travelled the same route and an overview map covering the area of the route. A winner's prize will be awarded to the occupants of the vehicle whom most accurately indicates on the map the position that the photographs were taken from, a wooden spoon will also be awarded for the least accurate.
The leaders can participate as well as they will have no prior knowledge of the photographs only the route.
Drivers on their own are welcome to drive the lanes but will not be included in the photohunt for safety reasons.
None of the photographs will have been taken from any of the surfaced road sections of the route.

Members will be asked for an entry fee of £5 per vehicle payable on the day.

This event has been popular with members whatever their previous experience, the lanes are suitable for all and can be driven in an un-modified 4x4, leaders will have recovery gear in the un-likely case this is required. The start point for this event is here http://streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=389882 ... &A=Y&Z=120 at 10.30am. The nearest post code is BA13 4TA.
If all goes to plan we should be finished by about 3.30pm here http://streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=411859 ... &A=Y&Z=120
We will stop for lunch en route so bring a picnic.

Hopefully I will be along the next one as it does sound like a good day.

Went out yesterday and took the photographs, so, as a taster, here are the one's I have rejected.
Have put them on Facebook also as no one seems to come here as the first port of call anymore.

Thanks for that John.
I can barely read a book. The only reason for my previous success was the co-pilot.

Hi Marty, We appreciate your kind gesture but it is very difficult to reschedule this event as the photos go out of date very quickly.
There is a member of GLASS coming along which will make the number up to four trucks, so a nice small group.
I'm sure it will make a good day out so look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Cheers,
John. :gr8:
