Basingstoke night laning - Saturday 13th January 2018

Postby The Four Wheel Drive Club » Fri Jan 05, 2018 6:51 am

Night laning on Saturday 13th January

The route will be a variety of interesting lanes around the south of Basingstoke / Alton direction, and finally ending up at ramsdell. There will be a number of miles on road, to link up the lanes, but we have tried to keep this to a minimum, This will give you a nice introduction to night laning.

We require all attendees to have good recovery points and AT tyres minimum (there are sections that are not passable with road tyres). Two lanes are a bit tight and scratchy but there will be an easy go around for these if required. You may incur some scratches, most SHOULD polish out.

Recovery equipment desirable but leaders will have the necessary gear.

Please bring food and refreshments for the day, as we will be stopping for several breaks. We also recommend you bring water for washing number plates and lights at the end of the day.

Start point is Morrison’s Car Park, Basingstoke... look out for a number of 4x4s and marshals in High Vis jackets!

Worting Rd, Basingstoke, Hampshire RG21 8BJ

Keep on Chl 21 when approaching the start.

Arrival time is 3:00pm and we aim to finish around 10.00pm

End point is a village called Ramsdell.

Numbers are limited so please put your name down only if you are sure to attend.

Would I be able to do this in a "standard" Discovery 3?
Cheers, Philip

Hi Philip, you definitely would not want to do this in a standard truck , there are quite a few tight but and a lot of deep ruts.
If you have a set of all terrain tyres you might want to do the Salisbury plain event at the end of the month.
