Laning day - Sunday 4th March - Chippenham to Bath

Postby The Four Wheel Drive Club » Sun Feb 18, 2018 4:02 am

BANES - Sunday 4th March laning day.

We are organising an Intermediate/Advanced laning day open to all FWDC members. The route will be a variety of interesting and challenging lanes around the BANES area.

Meet on Sunday 4th March at 09:30 am at Morrisons just off the A350 ring road north of Chippenham (SN14 6UZ). The finish point will be at the park and ride just South of Bath, hopefully around 4:30pm.

Some of the lanes are very scratchy and the scratches may NOT polish out, also there are some tight lanes and at least one where a dent may be possible if unlucky.

Good front and rear recovery points are essential for this route and good AT's or pref muds are required. Leaders will have any necessary recovery gear but please bring your own as well.

Please bring lunch/refreshments for the day. We also recommend you bring water for washing number plates and lights at the end of the day.

Numbers are limited as we will need to run small groups in order to enter and exit some of the lanes safely, so please put your name down only if you are sure to attend,

1 - Foxtrail
2 - Splash
3 - Lostscot
4 -
5 -
6 -

Reserve list
1 -
2 -

Leaders attending: Steve5car, Arnie D'Beer

Note - 80p cash will be required for the toll bridge in Bath (cuts a lot of tarmac out)

Any chance I could get on this one please? Picking new truck up Sunday.
Is there any drive arounds on the really scratchy / damage lanes?
If no drive rounds will still do them but don't want to kill it first trip out.

hi dan , as in the title
"Some of the lanes are very scratchy and the scratches may NOT polish out, also there are some tight lanes and at least one where a dent may be possible if unlucky".
All terrain tyres are a must and mud tyres even better.
have you got your new truck now?

Yep got it now. Have ats on it but am hoping my Mts will fit. Am trying them tonight. Not to worried if there aren't any drive arounds but don't want to smash it first outing but if no drive rounds then I will have to go carefully :) .stick me down my boy will love it as a late bday trip he's missed it as much as I have.
