All quiet on the Southern front

Postby billbloke » Fri Mar 16, 2018 3:45 pm

The site seems awfully quiet lately. Just checking in to see that you're all ok.

Anyone planning any outings soon?

It's been nice and wet lately, perfect for a foray onto the Plain.

Mods, repairs, purchases, anything interesting?

If anyone fancies a day out in the next few weeks give me a shout, i'm game. Haven't got the truck muddy for a while now so getting a bit twitchy.
I'm free after next weekend if you do. Needn't necessarily be a club event, just a chance to get out there.
:gr8:

I got a truck and no one's trying to kill me, its a good day.

Hi Bill, I’d be up for a day out and some off road shenanigans, when you thinking of going? I’m free for the next few weekends :gr8:

Hi guy's event should be posted up in the next few days bare with us. :gr8:

No resent mods on the truck just maintenance in one form or another, prop shaft UJ (a fairly regular occurrence) and a new fuel lift pump 1st. one on this motor at 179000 miles so pretty good really as they have a bit of a reputation. Interestingly the lift pump failed but the truck still ran fine as long as you kept the fuel tank more than 1/4 full, apparently the injection pump has is own pump which, if in good condition, will draw the fuel sufficiently. Now I have replaced the lift pump the fuel consumption appears to have improved which doesn't seem logical but there we are it is a Land Rover after all. :|

I have to admit, ive probably been a bit quiet too. Working a lot, plus having a now 1 year old, the last year has flown past.

The D1 V8 is still here, the Lwb Shogun is ready for sale, and I've just done a deal on a D2 V8, which will replace the D1, laning and plains vehicle, not a pay and play truck for a while. Don't want to do as much damage to this one.

Lets go and get down and dirty!!!
