TD5 Discovery Fuel Problems HELP!

Post by PJ_ » Mon Apr 27, 2015 7:33 am

I came to a halt a few weeks ago (broke down), I knew straight away the fuel pump needed replacing so I had one delivered the next day. I bought an after market one but its giving me problems.

I have to wait for the fuel to be pumped thru, this indicates air is getting in somehow. I have removed and replaced it and checked the 4 fuel lines are seated correctly.

Today it stopped again and it took a lot of bleeding to get going.

So, should I go and buy a genuine pump?

After speaking to Chris at the Bar-b-q I have checked the fuel pump for cloggage. Its not that, so fuel lines next!

It is obviously the time for this type of issue. Look at the thread I have been posting" loss of power woes" . It could be an injector pump diaphragm issue. After all the changes I have recently done it finally seems to be functioning properly and not cooking out, good luck
