I need a SIM card or some SIM cards to use in France and Italy, previously I have roamed but it's expensive. Also does anyone know if you have to register the sim?
Annoyingly SIM cards are not all the same size anymore.

I think that in France Leclerc supermarkets sell their own pay as you go/top up cards at the tills.
I will let you know next time that I have been in

Sorry PJ, not good news. Leclerc SIM cards have to be bought and activated on line, then all of the top up deals have a time limit before the credit is wiped from the account eg 15 euros lasts for 10 days whether you use it or not...
The mobile market has so little competition that there are not really any short term deals available.
You might be better off trying to see if your current provider can do anything similar to Mick's suggestion
Have a good trip
